Annotated Bibliography in AIP Style

In this post I will be providing an annotated bibliography in AIP citation style. This bibliography will be in a style similar to this one. The main point of this is to provide both the audience and myself a guide to how my paper will be structured.

EDIT: Annotated bibliography has been updated with 4 extra sources from news media, blogs and comments on social media.

EDIT: After reading both Casey's and Chloe's bibliographies I looked at my bibliography and realized that the amount of annotations I put on mine was about the same as the others so that made me feel confident about my annotations. After looking at Casey's bibliography which was in the same format as mine I realized that I had forgotten to put numbers at the beginning of my citations so I returned to mine and made the apporpriate changes.

  1. You and I had the same citation style, which I thought was interesting. Your annotated bibliography is cited slightly differently than mine, which I think is because I used a very old style guide, in which the need for citing websites was insignificant. I had no idea that URL's were supposed to be included in the citation, so reading the style guide you linked to in your post was very helpful for me. Otherwise, your annotated bibliography is very similar to the example provided and follows the rules of the style guide you found. I found no errors or missing information.

  2. After reviewing your citation portion of your annotated bibliography, it appeared to be very similar to my particular style. I used AMA citation style, which is generally used for medical research documents. The similarity between ours comes from the concise simplicity of the citations. some styles can be rather elaborate on citation formats, but scientific styles will generally be more straight to the point. Reviewing you style guide and personal citations, it looks as you have the format correct. Comparing your annotated bibliography to the provided example, I see may similarities. The main difference I saw was the subheading aspect. The example provides a headings for the different levels of context. I don't know if that's just for sake of example or if that's actually a format organization characteristic. All in all, your annotated bibliography looks good. Best of luck on the QRG!

  3. Though this is a completely different citation style than mine (ASME), I thought it was very interesting that they look essentially the same though some components are in a slightly different order. It was very easy to follow your annotated bibliography as the summaries were well written. Additionally, the subjects appear to be very interesting. Good luck on your QRG!
